A word from our Pastor

Thank you for visiting Christ Lutheran Church's website! Thanks to today's technology you and I are actually communicating right now. It's exciting that the Christian faith can travel so well across any boundary or divide. The good news of the Gospel is that Jesus came into the world, the very midst of the world, for YOU.

Christ Lutheran is aptly named as we are a community in Christ that warmly welcomes ALL people!

We have been celebrating the good news of Jesus for over fifty years. Though the neighborhood and community around us are ever-changing, the core of our message in Jesus remains constant. It is a powerful, inclusive and loving message.

Every human being, without exception, is created in God's image. When God looked at creation God pronounced it "good"- not "perfect"- but GOOD. Each person is very special and unique in God's sight. Everyone has special gifts that God has given them to share with others on our earthly pilgrimage. Our gifts are as diverse and essential as God's wonderful creation.

Always remember that God loves you just as you are and not as you think you ought to be. However, God can help you to become who you desire to be in Jesus Christ.

Jesus said "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life." If you seek to follow Him, you will be on the most wonderful, challenging, exciting and victorious journey of your life. Jesus died a humiliating, painful death and rose from the grave so that you and I may have everlasting life. That wonderful gift of grace and love comes to us through no effort of our own. It is freely given regardless of our sins and failures.

Jesus also said, "Come to me all of you who labor and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest." We live in a fast-paced society that often exhausts us. It is our Savior who offers us the relief we need not only for our bodies but for our souls as well.

God does not want us to be alone but calls us to be in community with one another. Humankind is bound together in a common experience in Christ. The Holy Spirit fills us with strength and hope to sustain and meet life's challenges.

It was Jesus who taught us to pray, and Christ Lutheran believes in the power of prayer. If you have a prayer request, please submit it to us; rest assured we will be praying for you. If you need someone to talk to, don't hesitate to contact us.

Christ Lutheran is a warm and welcoming congregation. We would love to have you join us for worship.

May God's gift of grace flow through your life and the love of Christ strengthen you and keep you forevermore. ...and always remember, God loves you!

Pastor Nancy
